We were called out to restore a massive, high-end stone tile patio surrounding a luxury home and hot tub area. The surface had lost its vibrant color due to deeply embedded grime. Here’s how we restored its pristine look.
The Challenge: Massive Square Footage, Deeply Rooted Dirt
When dealing with a vast outdoor living space like this one, using a standard pressure washing wand simply won't cut it. A wand can leave uneven "tiger stripes" across the stone and takes far too long to clean a large area evenly.
To prepare the surface, we cleared the deck and evaluated the condition of the stone and the joints.
The Process: Professional Surface Cleaning
To ensure an even, streak-free finish across thousands of tiles, we utilized industrial-grade flat surface cleaners. These rotating hover-discs keep the spray nozzles at a perfectly consistent distance from the stone, delivering uniform cleaning power that lifts dirt cleanly out of the pores.
To demonstrate the sheer amount of embedded silt and organic matter we pulled out, we captured a grid breakdown of the cleaning action in real-time.
Our multi-step process combined a specialized pre-treatment solution to kill the subsurface mold spores, followed by a meticulous high-volume rinse to flush out the joints.
The Final Reveal
Once the dirty water was completely flushed away and the stone began to dry, the rich, multi-toned browns, tans, and rust colors of the luxury tiles completely locked back in.
By removing the slick layers of mold and algae, this patio is no longer a slip hazard—it’s a stunning, welcoming extension of the home perfect for hosting outdoor gatherings.
